InnoPraxis continues to develop tailored programs for education institutions and private sector. The study visit program “Development of the road transport and it’s infrastructure in areas with challenging climate conditions. Transportation safety and ecology, technologies and innovations.” was organized by InnoPraxis in Helsinki capital area this fall.
Three representatives from the Tyva Republic spent three busy and useful days in Helsinki to learn about traffic infrastructure, safety and ecology standards, and new technologies.
Finland has extensive experience and unique research in road construction in difficult climatic environmental conditions. Safety and ecology are very important in this field. Everything is taken into account, not only the cold climate, but also natural pathes, dark winter time and many more.
The visit was supported by the State University of Tyva in order to improve collaboration between governmental bodies and commercial structures: three different organization’s took part in the visit, such as Ministry of road-traffic complex of the Republic of Tyva, leading road building company in the region “Vostok” ltd and also engineering and design company “Dorstroyproekt” Ltd.
The program included visits to the most important players in road building industry and research, such as for example Aalto University School of Engineering, where participants got acquainted with the road construction education, Highway Engineering MA programs. Highway engineering professorship in the Aalto University School of Engineering is the only one that exists actually in the universities of Finland.
The Finnish Transport Agency was the main interest for transport development and traffic safety, surveillance and infrastructure solutions. And the City Planning Department’s meeting place and exhibition space - Laituri provided delegation with the overview how Helsinki will develop: town planning, construction, traffic – the future of Helsinki is an open discussion of both visitors and residents.
The business sector was introduced by the one of the most powerful players of Finnish road construction industry – Lemminkäinen Infra Oy, which shared it’s knowledge of using advanced technologies in Russian road constructions. Participants visited company’s Central Research laboratory and Asphalt plant in Sammonmäki, Tuusula.
Another match for the valuable experience and technical solutions was represented by Ramboll Finland Oy, which assists traffic management operators, private contractors, cities and municipalities of transport projects: providing the design, construction and maintenance.
It was a very intensive and successful study visit and also a great experience for both participants and InnoPraxis.
